How to Upload a Screenshot Into Your Canva Design
A quick guide for fitness professionals on adding screenshots into Canva designs using TST templates.
Some TST Canva templates include screenshots from other websites, like Google Maps or a workout page in a training app. In this article, we’ll walk through how to add your own screenshots into your Canva design.
📸 How to Take a Screenshot:
Navigate to the page you’d like to screenshot — this could be Google Maps, a training app, a class schedule, a fitness article, or a performance tracking dashboard.
On Mac:
- Press Command + Shift + 4 on your keyboard.
- Your cursor will turn into a crosshair — click and drag to select the area you want to capture.
- The screenshot will automatically save to your Downloads or Desktop.
On Windows:
- Press Windows Key + Shift + S at the same time.
- This will open the Snip & Sketch tool, allowing you to select the area to capture.
- The screenshot will automatically save to your Downloads or Desktop.

🏋️‍♀️ How to Add a Screenshot of a Workout or Program to Your Design

🚨 Important: Check with your gym, employer, or brand guidelines before sharing another coach’s workouts or client content.
🚨 Important: Always ask the coach or content owner for permission before posting their workouts, client progress, or program details. Be sure to tag them in your post to give proper credit.
Steps:
- Navigate to the training app, program page, or class schedule.
- Find the workout or class that matches the criteria in your template.
- Take a screenshot of the desired area.
- Upload it to Canva.
- Click and drag your uploaded photo into the design.
Optional: To give your screenshot a polished look, round the corners by clicking the image and selecting the rounded corner icon in the top toolbar. Adjust the corner radius to your preference.
🗺️ How to Add a Screenshot of a Map or Route to Your Design

- Navigate to Google Maps.
- Type in your gym’s address, class location, or training route.
- Take a screenshot of the area you want to use.
- Open Canva and navigate to your design.
- Click Uploads on the left toolbar.
- Upload your screenshot of the map or route.
- Click and drag your uploaded image into the design.
How to Hide Landmarks on Your Google Map
Option 1: Hiding Saved Places (Pins)
- In Google Maps:
- Go to Saved: Tap on the “Saved” tab on the left side of the screen.
- Find the List: Scroll down to the list containing the saved place you want to hide.
- Tap the Three Dots next to that place.
- Select “Hide on your map.”
- 📍 Note: The pin will be hidden from your main map view but will remain saved under the “Saved” tab.
- Take a screenshot of the desired area.
Upload it into Canva.
Click and drag your uploaded image into the design.
Option 2: Using Google’s “My Maps”
- On your computer, sign in to My Maps.
- Open or create your custom map.
- Select “Base Map.”
- Choose the “Light Political” map style to remove landmarks.
- Take a screenshot of the desired area.
- Upload it into Canva.
- Click and drag your uploaded image into the design.
