  • Let’s walk through the basics of using templates on the free version of Canva for fitness professionals.

1. Sign Up or Log In

If you haven’t already, visit Canva.com and create a free account using your email, Google, or Facebook login. If you already have an account, simply log in to get started.

2. Choose a Template

From your The Social Trainer dashboard, browse for a template that fits your needs. Click on the template, then select “Open in Canva.” This will launch the template directly in the Canva editor, where you can begin customizing it right away.

3. Customize Your Template

  • Editing Text: Click on any text in the template to edit it. You can change the font, size, color, and alignment using the toolbar at the top.
  • Adding Elements: To add more text, images, shapes, or other elements, click on the options in the left-hand menu. Drag and drop elements onto your template.
  • Change Images: Click on any image to replace it. We highly recommend uploading your own branding photos — like trainer headshots, workout shots, or before-and-after client transformations.
  • Adjust Colors: Click on any element (like a background or shape) to change its color. Use the color picker tool in the top toolbar.
  • Resize and Move Elements: Click and drag elements to move them around or resize them using the corner handles.
  • Adding New Pages: To add a new page after your current page, click + Add Page on the upper corner of a page. In thumbnail or grid view, click the + button after the last page or when you hover your mouse before or after a page.
  • Rearranging Pages: Click on the up or down arrow icons above your design to move pages up or down.

4. Save Your Work

  • Auto-Save: Canva automatically saves your progress as you edit. You can access your designs anytime from the “Your Projects” section on the home screen.
  • Download: When you’re ready to export, click the “Share” button in the top-right corner and select “Download.” Choose your desired format (PNG, JPG, PDF, or MP4), then click “Download” again to save your finished design.

Canva Pro: Setting up Canva for your training brand.
