If you’re using Canva templates for your content, there’s a quick way to edit repeated text across your design without having to change each element manually. This bulk editing feature saves time and ensures consistency throughout your template.

Here’s how to do it step by step.

Step 1: Open the Template

  • Log in to Canva and open the template you want to edit.
  • Identify the text you want to update across multiple instances.

Step 2: Use the Find Feature

  • Press Command + F (Mac) or Ctrl + F (Windows).
  • Type or copy-paste the exact text you want to replace.
  • Canva will highlight all instances of that text in the template.

Step 3: Replace the Text

  • In the search results, you can replace the text one at a time or all at once.
  • Example: If your template says “Really Great Site” in several places, you can replace it with “Wall Volleyball” across the entire template.

Step 4: Replace Text in Brackets

  • Many templates use placeholders in brackets like [Name].
  • Copy the placeholder text, paste it into the find tool, and replace it with your own text.
  • You can replace all instances at once or individually.

Tip: This is a great way to quickly personalize templates without missing any repeated text.

Step 5: Review Your Changes

  • Go through your template to ensure all replacements look correct.
  • Adjust formatting if necessary — sometimes text size or spacing may need minor tweaks.

Pro Tips

  • Bulk edit works best when you copy and paste exact text to avoid missing spaces or capitalization differences.
  • Use it for names, locations, dates, or recurring phrases in your templates.
  • This method saves a ton of time compared to editing each text box individually.
