How to create a free Canva account and use The Social Trainer platform to create and share your posts on Instagram.
If you’re new to Canva and want to start designing quickly without paying for a subscription, this guide will walk you through exactly how to create a free Canva account and begin using Social Trainer templates right away.
Step 1: Go to Canva
Open your browser and visit canva.com, or download the Canva app on your phone or tablet.
Click “Sign up” in the top-right corner.
Step 2: Create Your Account
You can sign up using:
- Apple
Choose whichever option is easiest. If you use email, enter your name, email address, and password. You may be asked to verify your email before continuing.
Step 3: Choose the Free Plan
Canva will show different plan options.
Select Canva Free.
The free plan gives you access to thousands of templates and all the basic tools you need to edit designs — no credit card required.
Step 4: Set Your Use Type
Canva may ask how you plan to use the platform (personal, business, social media, etc.). Pick the option that fits best. This just helps Canva personalize your experience and won’t affect your free access.
Step 5: Access the Social Trainer Templates
Once you’re inside Canva, you’re ready to use Social Trainer templates.
To get started:
- Open the Social Trainer template link (shared with you or provided inside the platform).
- Click “Use template”.
- The template will automatically open in your Canva account.
No downloads or extra setup required.
Step 6: Edit the Template
You can now customize the Social Trainer template by:
- Replacing text with your own
- Swapping images or videos
- Changing colors to match your brand
- Resizing for different platforms (if needed)
All edits are saved automatically to your Canva account.
Step 7: Download or Share Your Design
When you’re done editing:
- Click Share to post directly or send a link
- Click Download to save your design to your device
Most Social Trainer templates are fully compatible with the Canva Free plan, so you can start creating content immediately.
