TST makes creating fun, shareable meme content easy. Meme overlay templates come with a cutout video ready to use — all you need to do is customize the background and text. Here’s how:

Step 1: Open the Meme Overlay Template

From your TST dashboard:

  1. Navigate to the Content Hub or Templates section.
  2. Find the Meme Overlay template you want to use.
  3. Click Use Template to open it in Canva.

Step 2: Customize the Background

The template includes a cutout video, but the background can be changed to fit your style:

  1. Click on the background area behind the cutout video.
  2. Select Background in Canva or replace it with an image/video from the Stock Library.
  3. Adjust colors, gradients, or filters to match your brand or humor style.

Step 3: Edit the Text

Meme overlays often include captions or text boxes:

  1. Click on the text you want to change.
  2. Type your own caption — make it funny, relatable, or on-brand.
  3. Adjust font, size, color, or position to make it clear and visually appealing.

Tip: Keep text short and punchy for maximum impact.

Step 4: Preview Your Meme

  • Make sure the cutout video, background, and text all look balanced.
  • Resize or reposition elements if needed.
  • Play the video in Canva to ensure it flows correctly.

Step 5: Post Your Meme

Once you’re happy with your meme overlay:

  1. Save your edits in Canva (it auto-saves as you go).
  2. Download the post
  3. Transfer to phone and post on Instagram

Quick Tips for Meme Overlays

  • Keep the background simple so the video stands out.
  • Use bold, easy-to-read fonts for captions.
  • Test different captions — humor often works best short and relatable.
  • Reuse successful templates for multiple memes to save time.

Editing a TST meme overlay is fast, fun, and a great way to engage your audience with entertaining content.
