Locking and unlocking elements in Canva is a simple way to keep your designs organized while you edit. It prevents certain elements from moving accidentally, making it easier to work with layered designs.

Step 1: Select the Element

  • Click on the element (image, text, or graphic) you want to lock or unlock.

Step 2: Lock the Element

  • Right-click on the element and choose Lock.
  • Once locked, the element cannot be moved or edited until it’s unlocked.
  • This is helpful for background images or grouped elements you don’t want to accidentally adjust.

Step 3: Unlock the Element

  • To make changes, right-click the element again and choose Unlock.
  • You can now move or edit the element freely.

Tip

Locking elements is especially useful when working with multi-layered designs or grouped objects, allowing you to adjust specific parts without disturbing the rest of your layout.
