A reel works like a feed post: pick a template, put your own stuff in it, export. The difference is you're swapping video clips, and the finished video takes a couple of minutes to make.
Find a reel template
Open Content Hub and click the Reels tab.
Click a card to preview it. How to use it tells you what footage the template expects — reels often want four or five clips, so check you've got them.
Open it in the editor
Click Open in Editor. It becomes a project in My Projects. Hit Save as you go.
The editor opens in Basic mode: Your words, Your clips and Your style on the right, the preview in the middle. Press play to watch the whole thing.
Swap the clips
Two ways — use whichever suits you.
Pick each clip yourself. Under Your clips, click a clip and choose Replace. Or click Add your clips, pick several, and they fill the reel in order.
Let Fill do it. Open the Media tab and click Fill. It puts your best-matching clips from My Media into every spot still showing the template's footage.
Fill gets much better once you've uploaded your own clips to My Media — it matches on what's actually in the footage.
Change the words
Under Your words, type over each line.
Nearly right? Try Advanced
If something needs moving or re-timing, switch to Advanced at the top. It opens the full timeline, where every clip and line of text is a block you can drag and trim.
You don't need it for a first reel. See The timeline when you're ready.
Write the caption
Open the Caption tab. Use the example, or click Generate with AI to have it written in your voice.
Export it
Click Export. The video is made on our servers — usually a couple of minutes — and the progress shows bottom-right.
You can close the tab while it works. The finished video waits for you in Settings → Exports.
Changes you make after clicking Export aren't in that video — export again to include them.
Get it onto your phone
When it's done, scan the Download to Phone QR code with your phone's camera and the video downloads straight to it.
Schedule the reminder
Click Schedule, check the export and caption, pick When and Where, and click Schedule. It lands on the Content Calendar.
Scheduling is a reminder, not a publisher — we email you the video and caption before it's due, and you post it. Scheduling is Pro.
On the free plan, reels can be up to 3 minutes long. Pro goes up to 10.
