Billing and invoices

Where your plan and next billing date are shown, how to change your card, where invoices and receipts live, and what to do about a failed payment.

Everything about money lives on one tab: Settings → Subscription.

Settings → Subscription, showing the current plan and the Manage Subscription button

What the tab shows

On Pro, the Current Plan card gives you the plan, its status, whether you're billed monthly or annually, and the date of your next billing. Under it, Billing Management is where you change anything.

On the free plan you see the Demo Plan card, a list of what's included versus Pro, and Get Full Access to upgrade. Payment is by card, taken through Stripe.

Changing your card, and finding invoices

Press Manage Subscription. That opens Stripe's billing portal — the same company that processes the payment — where you can:

  • update or replace the card on file;
  • change the billing address and tax details;
  • view and download every invoice and receipt;
  • cancel, or resume a cancellation you've changed your mind about.

Invoices aren't kept inside the app, so this portal is the place to get one. When you're done, the portal returns you to Settings.

If you've been a Pro member before, a Billing history card stays on the tab after you downgrade, with Open billing portal. Old invoices don't disappear when your plan ends.

Receipts by email

Stripe emails a receipt for each payment to the address on your account. If they're not arriving, check spam, then check that the email on the Settings → Account tab is the one you expect — receipts go to the billing address held by Stripe, which is normally the same one.

A payment that failed

Stripe retries a failed payment over a few days and emails you each time. Nothing happens to your account during that window. Fix it by opening the billing portal and updating the card; the retry then goes through and your Pro access never lapses.

If the retries run out, the subscription ends and the account moves to the free plan — nothing is deleted, and resubscribing restores everything. What survives a downgrade is listed in What's included in Pro.

Something looks wrong

For a charge you don't recognize, a refund question, or a mismatch between what the tab says and what your bank says, send us a message with the date and amount. Don't cancel to stop a billing problem — that makes it harder to fix, and cancelling has its own consequences.
