Autofill's job is to put the right clip in each slot of a template without you hunting for it. It lives in the Media tab of both editors, and it only runs when you ask it to — opening a template never fills it behind your back.
Where it is
Open the Media tab in the rail on the right and choose Autofill (the other mode, Replace, is the manual browser). You get a strip of suggestions for every photo or clip slot in the template:
- ORIGINAL — what the template shipped with
- BEST — the strongest match from your library, then the runners-up
Click any thumbnail and it drops into that slot on the canvas. Fill all places the top match in every slot at once; Shuffle re-rolls the picks if you want a different combination.
What it's matching
Two things, both written automatically:
- Every upload in My Media gets a description and tags when it arrives — the
exercise, the setting, who's in frame. That's the clip's side.
- Every media slot in a template gets an intent — what kind of shot belongs there —
worked out from the placeholder image the designer used and the text on the slide that goes with it. That's the slot's side.
Autofill compares the two and ranks your library for each slot. Nothing is hand-written, so a template that ships with a photo of a kettlebell swing next to the words power from the hips will look for your kettlebell clips first.
If a clip has Instructions set in My Media, they come along with it: the text linked to that slot picks up your coaching notes when the clip lands.
The folder filter
Media from decides where suggestions come from. All media is your whole library plus the stock library. Pick one of your folders and suggestions come from that folder only — useful once your library is big enough that the same handful keeps coming up. Choosing a folder sets stock aside, since stock isn't in any folder.
When the suggestions are wrong
Autofill is only as good as the descriptions it's reading. In order of how often each one is the cause:
- Nothing uploaded yet. With an empty library the suggestions are all stock, and Fill
all tells you Add clips to My Media to autofill. Upload your own — see My Media.
- The description is vague. Open the clip in My Media and rewrite the description to
say what's actually in it. That's the highest-leverage fix there is.
- The clip is excluded. Exclude from autofill on a clip keeps it out on purpose.
- The folder filter is too narrow. Switch Media from back to All media.
- You've got the wrong kind of footage. The What to film tab in My Media lists the

Anything Autofill gets wrong, Replace fixes by hand in one click; the two are meant to be used together.
